Here is our bustling metropolis of Kapeeka, Uganda. The round about is where the black top ends (No, not Shel Silverstein’s sidewalk, the actual road).
Fifteen years after The War of the Bush, the Ugandan Government paid back the villagers for killing 80% of them, burning down their houses and schools and decimating their crops…with a road.
We are thankful for that road as it makes getting to Kampala somewhat easier, and it gives our tiny little downtown a nice focal point, usually for goats soaking in the midday sun.
Isn’t Kapeeka charming?
