Meet Prossy: The Leader
Prossy is a born leader. She carries herself with a strong air of dignity and has one of the strongest wills to master her craft. Prossy loves The Common Thread Collective because it will help her grow fat since she can afford food, and often brings her youngest daughter – Peacie – to the compound to play with us.
Prossy had some struggles once we moved to the machines from hand sewing. She’s been using her hands her entire life for hard, manual labor. We had to tease her that the sewing machine was gentle like a baby and not a garden shovel. Eventually, after sticking with it, she got it. Now, she sees the opportunity to help others struggling with the gentle touch needed to work on a foot powered sewing machine.
Isn’t she a stunner in her traditional dress?
